Abergwyngregyn is a small village and community in Gwynedd, north-west Wales, on the Abergwyngregyn river. It is about 5 miles (8 km) east of Bettws-y-Coed and 12 miles (19 km) south of Bangor. It is in the historic county of Caernarfonshire.
The village has a church, St. Michael’s, which was rebuilt in 1873. There is a primary school, Ysgol Abergwyngregyn, which has about 60 pupils.
The area around Abergwyngregyn has a number of prehistoric sites. There are the remains of a Bronze Age hillfort on the Carneddau, about 1 mile (1.6 km) to the north-west of the village. There are also a number of standing stones and cairns in the area.
The village was the home of the poet and antiquarian Iolo Morganwg, who built a house, Plas Iolo, in the village in 1792. He is buried in the churchyard of St. Michael’s.
