A Look Back at the Snowdonia National Park on its Birthday

Happy birthday to the Snowdonia National Park!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Snowdonia National Park, and we’re celebrating in style!

The Snowdonia National Park was established on the 17th of October, 1951 and covers 823 square miles of stunning scenery in North Wales. Snowdon, at 3,560 feet, is the highest mountain in Wales and England, and the park also contains the largest natural lake in Wales, Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake).

The Snowdonia National Park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including red kites, ospreys, otters, badgers, red squirrels and the rare Snowdonia hawkweed.

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has visited the park over the past 50 years, and we look forward to welcoming you all back in the future!
